Many of you may have read the article on Hydrogen Peroxide, and its many uses in diluted form. If you were sceptical about using it, let me share with you this story.
As a keen sportsman and visitor of the local gym I have been suffering from athlete’s foot (fungal infection of your foot) for many years – until I tried H2O2. A highly diluted solution (about 2%) got rid of it within days. No side effects, negligible expense, superb efficacy. So, if you suffer from it too, why not try it out? You can get it at any good pharmacy or even from responsible and enlightened farmers. But first read the article on H2O2 if you haven’t done so already, because it contains a lot more beneficial applications of H2O2.
Like Colloidal Silver, oxygen therapy of any kind has a long history and a myriad of benefits, but has enjoyed suppression or ignorance for decades.
In Germany, it was Dr. Manfred von Ardenne who promoted his “Sauerstoffkur” for general well-being and improved health, and various oxygen food supplements (that work on cellular level) are on the market. There is an interesting article in the South African Quality Life Magazine, which I urge you to read. (Link at the bottom)
In this article, though, I would like to draw your attention to hydrogen peroxide, particularly diluted 35% Unadulterated Food-grade Hydrogen Peroxide. Many of you will have heard about using H2O2 as a hair bleach, and the older visitors amongst us may still remember it as a mouth wash. But in the wake of modern products and their marketing, hydrogen peroxide has lost most of its appeal in today’s household. Not because of inferiority, though, because the uses and benefits are multi-fold, as you are about to find out.
There are many variations of H2O2, with highly diluted 35% Unadulterated Food-grade Hydrogen Peroxide the one being of interest to us.
It was a farmer from the Tulbagh area about 2h outside Cape Town who pointed H2O2 out to me, and his mentioning of the benefits made me listen up.
There are people who take it internally, but for starters let’s have a look at the marvellous and numerous external uses of it.
Uses for Hydrogen Peroxide
– Info taken from the Oxygen Therapy site –
To make 3% Solution, mix 1 ounce of 35% H2O2 with 11 ounces of purified or distilled water.
In the Kitchen Vegetable Soak:
(In place of Clorox). Add 1/4 cup 3% H202 to a gallon (4.5 liters) of cold water. Soak light vegetables (lettuce, etc.) 20 minutes, thicker skinned vegetables (like cucumbers) for 30 minutes. Drain and dry, (they keep longer too). If time is a problem, you can spray the vegetables with straight 3% H202, let stand for a couple of minutes, rinse and dry.
Leftover Tossed Salad:
Put 1 Tbsp. 3% H202 in 1/2 cup of water and spray the top of the salad with the solution before covering and refrigerating.
To Freshen Kitchen:
Keep a spray bottle of 3% (straight) in the kitchen. Use it to wipe off counter tops and appliances. It disinfects and gives the kitchen a fresh smell. Works great inside the refrigerator and on Formica desk tops.
Washing/Laundry:
Add 8 ounces of 3% to your wash in place of bleaches with fumes.
Marinade:
Place chicken or beef in a casserole (avoid use of aluminum pans), and cover with 3% hydrogen peroxide. It may take several pints depending on amount of meat/chicken. Place, loosely covered, in refrigerator overnight. The next day, rinse and cook.
In the Dishwasher:
Add 2 oz. of 3% hydrogen peroxide to your regular washing formula. Your glasses will really sparkle!
Sprouting Seeds:
Add 1 ounce 3% hydrogen peroxide to 1 pint of water and soak the seeds overnight. Add the same amount of hydrogen peroxide each time you rinse the seeds. Some people have reported 3/4 inch sprouts in 24 hours.
Plants & Flowers:
Put 1 oz 3% hydrogen peroxide in 1 quart of water. Water or mist plants with this solution.
Insecticide Spray:
Put 8 ounces white sugar, and 4 – 8 ounces 3% hydrogen peroxide in 1 gallon of water.
Humidifiers/Steamers:
Use 1 pint 3% hydrogen peroxide to 1 gallon of water. (Helps keep them clean too).
In the Bathroom:
Keep a spray bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide in the shower. Spray your body after washing to replace the acid mantle on your skin that soap (and chloride in the water) removes.
Spray toilet paper with 3% hydrogen peroxide before using.
Use 3% on a cotton ball as a facial freshener after washing.
Add 1/2 to 1 pint 35% hydrogen peroxide to a full bathtub for a detoxifying bath. Note: try not to use this after 6-7 p.m. as the increased absorbed oxygen may keep you awake.
Athlete’s Foot:
Soak feet nightly in 3% hydrogen peroxide.
Mouthwash:
Use 3% hydrogen peroxide. Add a dash of liquid chlorophyll for flavouring if desired.
Toothpaste:
Use baking soda and add enough 3% hydrogen peroxide to make a paste. Or, just dip your brush in 3% hydrogen peroxide and brush.
Douche:
Equal parts of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water is the MAXIMUM dosage. Start with 3 tablespoons and gradually increase the amount.
Colonic:
1 pint 3% hydrogen peroxide to five gallons of water is the MAXIMUM dosage. Start with 1/2 pint and gradually increase the dosage.

Where to get H2O2
Normal Hydrogen Peroxide can be obtained at pharmacies, but you will find it contains stabilizers and other undesirable ingredients. However, the pharmacies should be able to point you in the right direction where you can purchase unadulterated food-grade hydrogen peroxide. Otherwise contact you enlightened health practitioner or even check out some chemical companies.
